5.1 NO WAY TO TREAT A FLOWER When a young girl dies from a legal marijuana-related chemical, Quincy demands that the lethal drug be taken off the market. Meanwhile Sam races against the clock testing for the actual cause of death and the chemical reactions involved.
5.2 DEAD LAST While enjoying a day at the racetrack, Quincy accidentally overhears a heated exchange between rival jockeys. A short time later one of them is discovered dead – trampled by a horse. Guest star Joseph Sirola.
5.3 BY THE DEATH OF A CHILD Quincy creates a diplomatic incident when he tries to halt an epidemic that has taken the lives of small children in a Latin American country. Guest stars Ina Balin and Robert Loggia.
5.4 NEVER A CHILD Quincy suspects murder when a teenage girl falls off a building to her death. His search for clues lead him into the demented world of child pornography.
5.5 HOT ICE The discovery of $2,000,000 worth of diamonds inside a dead body propels Quincy to go to Las Vegas in an attempt to make contact with a huge smuggling ring.
5.6 SWEET LAND OF LIBERTY Quincy helps Sam to discover what caused his friend to suddenly turn violent and kill a police officer. While Quincy was apprehensive about the case at first, he soon realises Sam’s suspicions are justified.
5.7 MODE OF DEATH While researching the alleged suicide of an evangelist whose church is under investigation, Quincy orders a physiological autopsy to establish conclusively if the preacher actually took his own life.
5.8 NOWHERE TO RUN Quincy is called in to determine whether murder or suicide was committed when a pregnant teenager falls off a cliff to her death. He feels that evidence of a struggle does not conclusively point to homicide even though the police are sure of their suspect.
5.9 THE MONEY PLAGUE After finding a skyjacker’s skeleton in a national forest, Quincy’s research leads him on a desperate chase to locate the plane hijacker’s accomplice and stolen loot before the contaminated money causes an international germ epidemic. Guest stars Henry Beckman and Robert Hogan.
5.10 FOR THE BENEFIT OF MY PATIENTS Quincy takes on a private hospital’s uncompromising policy of “pay before stay” when two lower-income patients die while being transferred to a public facility for failing to pay upfront.
5.11 MURDER BY S.O.P. A deadly fire in the small town jail tragically kills four prisoners. Quincy suspects that the blaze was set as a cover-up for homicide and soon discovers the town’s officials resent his constant snooping into their affairs.
5.12 HONOR THY ELDERS Quincy investigates two cases that involve the exploitation and abuse of senior citizens by their cruel relatives. While visiting a senior day care centre, he learns from the director that abuse of the aged is more widespread than he imagined.
5.13 DIPLOMATIC IMMUNITY When a Latin American dictator comes to the U.S. for medical treatment, he is stalked by an assassin who has infiltrated the hospital’s staff and had already knocked off several of the President’s entourage.
5.14 RIOT When the death of a prison inmate draws Quincy and Sam into the institution, they find themselves caught in the middle of a riot and held hostage.
5.15 COVER UP A nurse seeks Quincy’s help when she is asked to cover up the death of a heart attack victim who was treated by an inexperienced emergency room physician.
5.16 UNHAPPY HOUR After a fatal automobile accident caused by teenage alcoholism, Quincy must ascertain whether Dr. Astin’s daughter was the driver and possibly guilty of manslaughter. Guest stars Joseph Sirola and Madlyn Rhue.
5.17 THE WINNING EDGE Quincy probes into a gymnastic coach’s training techniques when an autopsy on an aspiring Olympic gymnast reveals traces of amphetamines on her body. The girl’s teammates try to protect their coach but Quincy is determined to break through the sea of lies and gets to the truth.
5.18 NEW BLOOD Quincy cuts his holiday short in order to help Dr. Gerrie investigate the mysterious death of a prominent politician. At first, she resents Quincy’s prying, but subsequently she accepts his support and together they weed out the suspects.
5.19 TKO Quincy connects the deaths of a newly-crowned prize fighter and a chef to an incompetent physician who performs surgery in his inadequately equipped office.
5.20 THE FINAL GIFT When Max, an old Korean War buddy, dies from noncritical injuries sustained in a small place crash, Quincy discovers his friend was the victim of arsenic poisoning. To make matters worse, Max’s business partner may be responsible. Guest star Joseph Campanella.
5.21 DEADLY ARENA The only connection between three botulism victims – a housewife, an electrician and a doughnut truck driver, is that they have all been to the Los Angeles Coliseum on separate business. Quincy and Dr. Carlisle, an investigator from the Health Department, must discover the source at the stadium before 90,000 spectators arrive for a soccer championship. Guest star Diana Muldaur.
5.22 NO WAY TO TREAT A PATIENT A gunshot victim is taken to an emergency clinic where his wound is treated by a young doctor. When the patient is transferred to the main hospital, he is declared dead on arrival, apparently a victim of a second bullet wound. Quincy must decide if the doctor overlooked the second wound or if foul play was involved. Guest star A. Martinez.
